Stormwater Services

Construction Stormwater

On active sites we conduct routine SWPPP inspections at the cadence your permit requires. After qualifying rainfall, we perform an after storm assessment that includes a site walk, photo documentation, and a concise report that flags issues, assigns responsibility, and sets timelines for correction. We review erosion and sediment controls, confirm that BMPs are installed and maintained, and check inlets, outfalls, and perimeter controls for sediment and debris. Field crews get clear punch lists and toolbox talks that focus on practical fixes that keep the site out of trouble and on schedule. Throughout the job we provide progressive site photography and drone imagery so owners and contractors can verify progress and support payment applications.

Existing Facilities and Municipal Support

For built sites and small municipal systems we provide outfall and dry weather screening, along with basic illicit discharge detection in the field. We perform visual inspections of basins, ponds, and forebays, note vegetation and sediment conditions, and recommend routine maintenance based on what we see. We prepare straightforward operation and maintenance schedules and checklists that fit your team’s capacity. We also map stormwater features and assign asset IDs in a GIS-ready format so you can track work over time. When cleaning is needed, we coordinate catch basin and vault service and document results for your records.

Documentation and Owner’s Representative Services

At the start of a project we create a baseline photo log before ground disturbance and compile a permit and inspection matrix with due dates, forms, and contacts. During construction we issue time-stamped field reports and weekly summaries that list findings, risks, and next steps. After storms you receive a written assessment within a defined window so there is a clear record for regulators and lenders. At closeout we deliver photo sets and simple O&M handoff packets that help owners, HOAs, or facility teams maintain the site without guesswork.

After Storm Assessments

When rainfall meets the permit threshold, we mobilize to confirm site conditions, capture photos and drone imagery, and document any deficiencies. You receive a focused report that ties directly to the permit language and includes specific corrective actions, who is responsible, and when the work will be complete. This record satisfies compliance needs and helps contractors prioritize field work without delays.

What We Are Not

Gorton & Associates is not an engineering or surveying firm. We do not stamp plans or produce licensed surveys. When a stamped design or certification is required, we coordinate with a trusted local PE or PLS and manage the handoff so you benefit from local knowledge and faster approvals.
